This is the guy who plays on scorpion the American scorpion from sixties. Not to be confused with incredible Scorpians from Germany during 70s fantastic majestic. Into the commercial 80s guitar anthems (simple basic still melodic) Anthems doesn’t necessarily mean beautiful, as musically great

@kc4e841 - I never got particularly good on the guitar (I do work on it every day), but I got to be really adept at lifting that stylus and moving it back a groove or two to re-hear something. I marvel at all the resources on this here RUclips. Keep plugging and Be Cool.

The gift of an artist or athlete comes from the heart. I am hearing impaired since birth with a lot of sound challenges. The youngest of six I was given total freedom to enjoy whatever came across my ears, so just like Jack Pearson said it’s the sound that we enjoy hearing which is where the heart is.

I saw Jack with The Allman Brothers. That was my first time ever hearing his name. He blew me away with his playing and the tone he got. He mentioned something here that hit home with me. He learned to play how we all did back in the day. Put the record on and try and learn from it. I am 64 and started playing when I was 10. I couldn't count how many guitars I have owned. I am one that doesn't really pay attention to the name on it. If it feels good and plays good, then I want it. I can always upgrade it at some point. To me, music is in your soul. That's where the start of your tone comes from. And Mr. Pearson definitely has it in his soul.

It’s a shame that Nashville has turned their backs on these kind folks with these kinds of sounds. They need to get back to the hot hands on the tele’s and pedal steels and away from the auto tunes and the scratching turn tables.

I first saw Kenny back in Denver Colorado in the late 70s. I saw him and his band, The Johnny 3 play many times at a small punk new wave club called the Malfunction Junction. Out of all the bands and musicians Kenny stood out big time. I really loved his playing. I’m a guitarist as well and I was so pleased to see someone who could really play! Most the groups on that scene at the time were still learning to play their instruments, great energy, but no real skills to note. Kenny also was the lead singer. Great voice! I have a couple Johnny 3 shows that I’ve since transferred to Cd. I always get such a kick listening to those. Kenny, if you happen to read this, I want you to know to this day, 40 plus years on, that you are still a great inspiration for my playing!

I saw him with Lucinda on the Car Wheels tour. I went to the venue about an hour before the show. I was the only one there. I got right up against the stage directly in front of Lucinda's microphone and didn't move from that spot for the next 3 hours. I had the best spot in the place. I'd been listeneing to Lucinda's music for 5 or 6 years. I never imagined I'd see her but that night she was within 4 feet of me for about 2 hours. Jim Lauderdale opened and he was right in front of me. I remember Kenny playing solos on a Music Man Albert Lee model guitar with 3 single coil pickups. What a night that was.
